Marquette, MI – February 24, 2026 – The City of Marquette is working it’s way through the record snows that we are all dealing with in this region this winter.
The snow has continued to pile up around the city, causing safety issues, logistics problems and budgetary strain.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs spoke about the snow situation with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Kovacs said city crews are working overtime in many cases to keep streets and public spaces clear and safe, but as the snows keep continuing, challenges are mounting.
She encouraged residents to have patience as the crews and snow removal gear have been pushed to the limit more than once this winter season with substantial snow totals from multiple storms.
