
Marquette, MI – February 20, 2026 – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect today for Marquette and Baraga Counties and the surrounding region. The National Weather Service office in Negaunee Township says the Warning is in effect until 7:00 o’clock tonight.
Heavy mixed precipitation will increase this morning and continue through the day, with snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches expected with up to 10 inches in the higher terrain of northern Marquette and Baraga Counties. Ice accumulations of around two tenths of an inch are also possible in southern Marquette County.
Deteriorating conditions are expected to impact travel later today, including the evening commute.
As a result, there are several school closings this morning including Northern Michigan University.
