Marquette, MI – January 12, 2026 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting this evening.
The Commission will be acting on an approximately $2.6 million request for state legislative funding for the purchase of a new ladder fire truck and two new snow plow trucks for the city.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs spoke about the funding request with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Kovacs explained that request is being made to try to get the funding to replace a 1996 model ladder truck currently in use by the city. She added that the majority of the request is for that truck, which has a price tag of nearly $2 million.
The meeting is at 6:00pm at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
