Marquette, MI – December 5, 2025 – Project Keep Kids Warm, the annual winter clothing drive by Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming, has had a successful season so far and the effort is continuing.
One of the effort’s coordinators, Dick Derby, spoke about the drive with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Derby explained that this year’s drive has provided winter outerwear to nearly 400 children across portions of Marquette County, and behind the scenes, the effort is continuing to be very active. He said that the group is purchasing jackets, snow pants, and boots whenever they find advantageous pricing and availability.
Derby added that they are also continuing to fund raise, and he outlined a special event coming up soon to help out the effort.
They have partnered with Texas Roadhouse for a special “Dine & Donate” event on Sunday, December 14th from 11:00a to 3:00p where customers can present a copy of the flyer below, and 10% of their meal cost will be donated to KKW.
