ELECTION RESULTS

Marquette, MINovember 5, 2025 – Voters in Marquette County headed to the polls yesterday to decide a series of municipal races and school bond and millage requests.

In the City of Marquette, two incumbents were re-elected to fill a pair of seats on the Marquette City Commission, with Sally Davis receiving 2,525 votes, and Michael Larson with 2,005. Challenger Matthew Luttenberger had 653.

In the race to fill a seat on the Marquette Board of Light Power, Carrie Statt was the winner with 1,348 total votes. Also in that race, Margaret Brumm had 891 with Doug McMahon with 648.

And in the final counts for the Negaunee City Council, John Becker had 464 votes to Jeff Plummer with 405.

In school bond and millage proposals, voters in the Gwinn Community School District rejected a 4.8 mill request to allow for the building of a consolidated elementary school by a vote of 1,649 NO to 1,147 YES.

In the Ishpeming School District, a $3.7 million bond proposal to build athletic structures and add storage passed by a final tally of 592 YES and 416 NO.

A Powell Township Schools millage request was also passed by a count of 147 YES to 112 NO.

And a 1 mill Public Safety Millage passed in Chocolay Township by a count of 990 YES to 609 NO.
