Marquette, MI – October 23, 2025 – Fundraising is continuing for the final build out of the Peg Hirvonen Bandshell at Presque Isle Park in Marquette.
Grugin explained that a generous donation from the Ray & Peg Hirvonen Foundation enabled the building of the new bandshell to get started, but there is still a way to go to reach the final goal.
He said the bandshell will be largely completed during the coming month and they will likely be finishing landscaping next spring, and it is anticipated open for use in late June.
Grugin said the City Band is ramping up final fundraising push as of this week. The effort has raised just over $1.9 million of it’s overall $2.2 million goal.
Grugin added that the main ways to give to the campaign though the Marquette City Band website.
