BIPOC Outdoors Summit & Rest Retreat At NMU Underway

Marquette, MI – August 4, 2025 – The BIPOC Outdoors Summit and Rest Retreat @ NMU is underway this week at Northern Michigan University.

NMU Assistant Vice President of Opportunity, Empowerment and People, Shawnrece Butler, spoke about the event recently with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Butler explained that it is a gathering that brings together outdoor enthusiasts, community builders, and those seeking restoration and inspiration.

She added that while the events center the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in outdoor spaces, everyone is welcome to attend.
