Marquette, MI – June 9, 2025 – Residents in the City of Marquette are seeing some changes in the schedule for garbage pick up starting this week. The contracted vendor, Waste Management, is shifting into morning and daytime hours after the community voiced concerns and complaints about overnight trash and recycling pick up.
Kovacs said as the transition happens, there will be some challenges as residents and the City adapt to the new schedules. She added that while it can be frustrating at times for residents, they should take the time to report any such issues so City staff can keep a record of any matters.
Kovacs said the City is aware of the issues, and is addressing those with Waste Management as they come up. Residents can make any such reports by filling out this form on the City website, or by calling the Department of Public Works at (906) 228-0444.
