Marquette, MI – April 23, 2025 – Efforts are continuing to raise funds to build the Peg Hirvonen Bandshell at Presque Isle Park in Marquette.
Stucko and Grugin explained that new bandshell at the park became a necessity for Marquette City Band concerts and other community performances after the previous bandshell was ruled unsafe for use due to age.
A generous donation from the Ray & Peg Hirvonen Foundation enabled the building of the new bandshell to get started, but there is still a way to go to reach the final goal.
Stucko and Grugin shared the anticipated timeline for the construction of the new facility and outlined some of the main ways to give to the campaign though the Marquette City Band website.
