NMU Wildcat Wednesday: Student Housing Evolving To Meet Needs

Marquette, MIJanuary 16, 2025 – On our latest Northern Michigan University Wildcat Wednesday, we heard an update on student housing.

Cat Hardenbergh, Director of Housing and Residence Life at NMU, shared the update with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Hardenbergh said student on-campus residence hall numbers are holding steady after the first semester, and the occupancy rates are withing their capacities.

She also outlined a major project that is starting later this year that will be building student apartments adjacent to the Cohodas building in North Marquette along Presque Isle Avenue.

Hardenbergh said the buildings will have have studio apartments with one, two and four bedroom options and they are expected to house about 380 residents.
