Marquette, MI – December 23, 2024 – An area charitable foundation has joined the effort to renovate the Shiras Planetarium in Marquette.
The Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation has announced a matching gift challenge through the end of the year.
LaBreque said the Foundation says they will match all donations to the Friends of Shiras Planetarium dollar for dollar, up to $115,000.
She said the planetarium is celebrating its 60th anniversary next year and is under renovation to become a state-of-the-art facility.
LaBreque added that to date, the community has raised just over $766,500 of their $1 million goal.
