
Marquette, MI – November 19, 2024 – A group dedicated to raise funds to update the Shiras Planetarium at Marquette High School has rolled out a public campaign.
The group, Friends of the Shiras Planetarium, officially announced the campaign this week at the Marquette Area Public Schools Board meeting.
The effort is raising $1 million to update the projection system and more at the facility. So far, the group has raised $765,000 and is now appealing to the public to get involved.
LaBrecque esxplained that the funds raised through this particular campaign will support critical upgrades beyond the projection system, including new seating, lighting, and other
technology.
