Marquette, MI – November 14, 2024 – On our latest Wildcat Wednesday we heard about an effort at Northern Michigan University in the College of Technology and Occupational Sciences HVAC/R program that helped a current student and U.S. Army veteran.
Christensen explained that what happened was a bit of perfect timing to give students in the HVAC/R program some practical, hands-on experience to help out Syrja, who was struggling with heat issues in his home.
He said that through support of area businesses and the efforts of fellow second-year students in Northern’s HVAC/R program, Syrja’s home is now equipped with a new boiler.
Syrja talked about how the whole project came to be after the old boiler stopped working in his home. He also thanked his fellow classmates, the HVAC/R program, and companies that donated their time and equipment.
