Marquette, MI – November 11, 2024 – IronArts Theatre is presenting their latest production entitled “Spring Awakening” this week in Marquette.
Gladwell explained that it is a coming of age rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik. She said the story is based on a once-banned play in Germany from 1891, but it has many elements that apply in today’s world.
Vanwelsenaers said his role of Melchior, who is the headstrong lead chracter in the story, has been interesting for him to play as the themes in it, while written so long ago, apply today.
Gladwell added that the show does feature serious, adult themes and subject matter, and the production is not appropriate for young children.
Performance dates are November 11-14 at the Ore Dock Brewing Company on Spring Sreet in Marquette. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or at ironartstheatre.org.
