National Drug Take Back Day Is This Saturday

Marquette, MI – October 24, 2024 – Safely dispose of expired prescription and OTC medications this weekend on National Drug Take Back Day, which is Saturday.

Rich Johnson, a volunteer with the Forsyth Township Police Department and Chair of Marquette County TRIAD, and Tom Kinnunen, Community Service Trooper with the Michigan State Police spoke about the effort with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Johnson outlined where you will be able to safely drop off expired medications, in pill form only, that are no longer necessary to have in the medicine cabinet.

Kinnunen explained how this program gives people the chance to throw away old prescription drugs in an environmentally safe manner with no questions asked.

The pills can be dropped off at law enforcement agencies this Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
