Marquette, MI – October 23, 2024 – The Michigan Department of Transportation says a major road construction project in Western Marquette County is wrapping up.
The agency says all lanes are open on the new US-41/M-28 roundabout at the Lakeshore Drive intersection in Ishpeming.
Speaking a few hours before the opening, Weingarten said the new roundabout was to be fully open to traffic around noon today, and the detours of Lakeshore Drive were being lifted.
He added that temporary traffic signals at the intersection of US-41/M-28 and Country Lane will be removed over the next week or so.
Weingarten also said some minor work on the project remains to be completed this fall.
