
Marquette, MI – October 15, 2024 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting this evening. The meeting is being held tonight, on a Tuesday, due to yesterday being a Federal holiday.
The Commission will be voting on a resolution to approve and adopt the new Community Master Plan for the city.
Kovacs said tonight’s vote comes after the plan was developed over the last year-and-a-half through public planning sessions, surveys and public hearings
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:00 o’clock at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
Kovacs also talked about a special work session the Commission is holding this afternoon prior to tonight’s regular meeting.
She explained that the Commission is discussing a request to establish an industrial development district in the city from Able Medical Devices. That company recently announced plans to build a 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the city as part of a planned $13 million manufacturing expansion.
The work session will be at 4:30pm at Commission Chambers at City Hall.
