Marquette, MI – September 17, 2024 – State Senator Ed McBroom says things are somewhat in a holding pattern currently in Lansing as lawmakers are out on the campaign trail.
McBroom shared his thoughts this week with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
The Dickinson County Republican talked about how the election cycle has taken politicians, including himself, out of their respective chambers as the November election grows closer.
McBroom said since majorities are very slim in both the state House and Senate, this is a very important election for both sides of the aisle.
But he also said who ends up winning will set the course for the “lame duck” session that will happen after the election and the end of this year’s legislative session.
McBroom said how contentious that session will be will be determined by if Democrats keep their majorities or if Republicans take control of one or both chambers. His thoughts were somewhat surprising and worth a listen.
