Marquette, MI – August 15, 2024 – Marquette Roller Derby hits the rink this weekend at Lakeview Arena in Marquette and two of the team’s members stopped in with an update.
Pepper and Ripper spoke about the weekend’s bouts and more with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Ripper said the first and only at-home bout for the team is this Saturday and is a double header. Doors open at 5pm, and the first bout starts at 6pm.
It is between Marquette Roller Derby and Lansing Roller Derby’s A team. The second bout is between Mid-State Roller Derby and Lansing Roller Derby’s B team.
Tickets are $10. Children 12 and under are free.
Pepper added that for anyone interested in joining the team, they are having a Derby 101: An Intro to Derby course.
It runs Monday, August 19; Thursday, August 22; Monday, August 26; and Thursday, August 29th from 6:00-7:30 at the Baraga Gym in Marquette. It is $20 for four days of an introduction to derby with gear available for rent.
