Marquette, MI –July 18, 2024 – The Marquette City Band is presenting their annual Children’s Concert at 7:30 this evening at the Presque Isle Bandshell.
The band will be guest directed by Dr. Matt Ludwig, and will be featuring 2024 Youth Soloist Maddox Lewis.
Ludwig and Maddox spoke about the evening’s performance with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Ludwig, who recently retired as Director of Bands at Marquette Senior High School, said the evening features music of multiple styles for ages 1-101.
Lewis, who will be a senior at downstate Allendale High School this fall, is the evening’s featured soloist and he talked about the works he will be performing and played a small sample of a Mozart piece he is being featured on.
All concerts held at Presque Isle Park Bandshell and livestreamed on the MCB Facebook Page. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held at NMU Reynolds Recital Hall.
