Marquette, MI – July 1, 2024 – Independence Day celebrations are happening this weekend in Ishpeming, with the bulk of activities on Saturday.
Rodda explained that the group voted a few years ago to move Ishpeming’s celebration to the first Saturday of the month of July to open up more events for the public to enjoy to celebrate America’s independence.
She said the main events are on Saturday with the parade through the downtown at 10:30am, followed by the Community Picnic all day at the Al Quaal Recreations area, followed by fireworks at 10:36pm.
Rodda added there are several other activities going on, including the annual Festival of Treasures in the downtown area n Friday, along with a concert by the Ishpeming Blue Notes. A full list of events is at the Celebration website.
