Marquette, MI – June 14, 2024 – The Marquette Area 4th of July Celebration Committee is in the home stretch of planning for the annual Independence Day events in the city.
Durley said the key bit of info is that the fireworks will be over Mattson Lower Harbor Park on Wednesday, July 3rd this year, creating the opportunity for a rain date on the 4th, if needed.
He added that with the Exchange Club’s Food Fest going on at the park on the 3rd and 4th, along with the Kiwanis’ Marquette parade happening on July 4th, there will be plenty to enjoy around the planned fireworks on the 3rd.
Durley also said there is a special low-sensory laser light show display on the Lower Harbor ore dock happening on the night of the 4th, presented by Travel Marquette.
The fireworks show will be synchronized once again this year to music that will be broadcast here on Sunny 101.9, WKQS-fm and are planned to be fired off right around 10:40pm eastern time on July 3rd.
