Marquette, MIFebruary 9, 2024 – Planning is continuing for the return of the Festival of the Sled Dog powered by NMU in Downtown Marquette.

It is being held due to the cancellation of the UP 200, Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30 sled dog races due to the lack of snow, and will be on Friday, February 16th.

Derek Hall, Chief Marketing Officer at Northern Michigan University, and Mackenzie Geary, NMU Marketing Intern and NMU Representative on the UP200 Board of Directors, spoke about the evening’s plans with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

They shared a schedule update and more information, explaining that the downtown streets will, once again, be filled with snow for sledding and there will be sled dog demos, live music and other activities.
