Marquette, MI – February 9, 2024 – The Central UP CISM/Peer Support Team is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser this weekend in Negaunee.
Team Members Pamela Basal and Kristie Buruse spoke about the event with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Basal said that the fundraiser is this Saturday, February 10th, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm at the Negaunee VFW Post 3165 at 208 Gold Street. It will feature the full spaghetti meal along with basket raffles, 50/50 drawings and live music by The Reveal.
Buruse explained that their group exists because first responders are exposed to traumatic events and see things that no one should ever see and that can take a toll on mental health.
She added that they are doing what they can to keep local first responders healthy, and this event is raising money to develop a special Mental Health Fund to help those who may be in need.
