Marquette, MI – November 27, 2023 – A free screening of the award-winning feature film Bones of Crows takes place this week at Northern Michigan University.
Lindala said the showing is open to the public and will be at 6:30pm on Friday, December 1st, at the Whitman Hall Commons.
She explained that the film follows the character Aline Spears, a Cree woman who survives the Canadian Indian residential school system and goes on to become a code-talker for the Canadian Air Force in World War II.
Lindala said the film is grounded in historical truth, and weaves together underrepresented moments in Indigenous history.
