Marquette, MI – November 16, 2023 – A commemorative craft beer has been created by the Kognisjon Bryggeri Brewery in collaboration with the Ishpeming Ski Club to celebrate the Club’s upcoming 137th Annual Ski Jumping Tournament.
Peter Copenhaver, Ski Club Vice President, spoke about the brew with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Copenhaver said “K-Point Red Ale” is a liquid tribute to the rich history of ski jumping in the Upper Peninsula and the celebration of the Ski Jumping Tourney.
He also announced a special release event that is coming up to sample the beer at Kognisjon Bryggeri Brewery at 1034 North 3rd Street in Marquette on Friday, November 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Copenhaver added that this special brew also pays homage to the unwavering passion of Mr. Tom “Sodapop” Sodergren, whose lifelong dedication to the sport and the Ishpeming Ski Club has played a pivotal role in preserving ski jumping for future generations.
Sodergren is being honored at the tournament on January 19th-21st, 2024, and he will be in attendance at the release event on Black Friday.
