Marquette, MI – November 13, 2023 – The Marquette City Commission has their annual organizational meeting tonight. The meeting is always held on the Monday immediately after an election to formally swear in new Commissioners.
Kovacs explained that during the meeting, Commissioners will also be voting to select a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem and setting the Commission meeting schedule for the year.
She added that also on tonight’s agenda, the Commission will start the process of filling a vacancy on the city’s Board of Light & Power created by the resignation of Paul Schloegel from that board. He was elected to the City Commission in last week’s election.
Tonight’s organizational meeting is at 7:00pm at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
