Marquette, MI – September 28, 2023 – The Iron Ore Heritage Trail has had some repairs completed and is extending it’s length to the east.
Hendrickson said that repairs have been completed and the Black River Tributary bridge has been reopened in Humboldt Township just in time for color season.
He also said the IOHT has signed and has been approved for a five-mile extension of the trail to the Lakenenland Sculpture Park in Chocolay Township which will create an additional trail paralleling the current ORV/Snowmobile trail.
Hendrickson added that it will be a separate trail for pedestrians and bicyclists.
