Marquette, MI – July 12, 2023 – The Marquette City Band is presenting their annual Children’s Concert Thursday night with a special guest trumpet soloist, 18-year-old Ryo Morita.
Grugin said the show, scheduled for 7:30pm at the Presque Isle Bandshell in Marquette, will feature a mix of movie and television show favorites and more, all with a slant toward kids and young adults. He added that in the event of rain, the concert will be held at the Reynolds Recital Hall at Northern Michigan University.
Morita shared some information about the pieces she will be featured in and about herself, including being a recent graduate of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, and that she will be attending the Juilliard School of Music this coming year.
Grugin also thanked the Community Foundation of Marquette County for a generous grant that allowed for Morita to travel to Marquette and perform with the City Band.
