Marquette, MI – July 29, 2023 – Independence Day events in the City of Ishpeming are being held this year on Saturday, July 1st.
Ishpeming City Manager Craig Cugini shared an update with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Cugini explained that from this year on, Independence Day events like the parade and fireworks will be held on the first Saturday in July.
He said the change makes planning for people and their families to enjoy the events easier and will allow for a consistent celebration in Ishpeming.
Cugini said the annual parade through the downtown area begins at 10:30am, the community picnic follows at noon at the Al Quaal Recreation Area, and that’s where the fireworks will be at around 10:30pm.
