Marquette, MI – April 27, 2023 – The legacy of one of the Irontown’s favorite sons, Al Ammesmaki, AKA GOOFUS, is being celebrated this weekend in Negaunee.
The 5th Annual GOOF-FEST is being held Saturday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Smarty’s Saloon in Negaunee to remember GOOFUS and to raise funds for a scholarship that was created in his honor at the Negaunee Public Schools.
Smarty said there will be karaoke with Pierre Ogea, commemorative t-shirts available to purchase and bucket raffles to bid on to raise funds for the scholarship.
