Marquette, MI – December 2, 2022 – The Marquette County Solid Waste Authority is getting the word out about the proper disposal of sharps, needles and other medical waste to keep them out of the recycling stream.
Austin explained that sharps are showing up more often of late in their recycling line, which puts their employees in harm’s way.
He shared some of the updates they are making as guidance tips for residents on how to properly dispose of the items, and reminded residents that needles and other sharps are not recyclable.
