Marquette, MIJune 16, 2022 – A special evening of remembering one of Marquette’s musical raconteurs, Kim French, is happening this Friday at the Marquette Elks Lodge.

Event co-organizer Bill Etten spoke about French and the evening’s plans today with Walt Lindala on Mark & Walt in the Morning.

French passed away in January of this year, and you can read more about him and his musical exploits HERE.

Etten shared some of the history of French’s decades of making music in Marquette, across the Upper Great Lakes region and in the downstate Ann Arbor area. He also talked about French’s impact on players that transcended generations.

Etten said the evening starts off this Friday, June 17th, around 5:00pm at the Marquette Elks Lodge at 127 North Front Street with plenty of food, drink and live music with the Flat Broke Blues Band.

He added that there will be ample opportunity for people to share their memories of French and to jam on some tunes in his memory, and all are invited to attend.
