Marquette, MI – May 16, 2022 – State Senator Ed McBroom says he is in support of a resolution going before Michigan voters on the November 2022 ballot to revise the state’s term limits law.
State Senator Ed McBroom spoke about the legislation today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
McBroom said the Michigan House and Senate both approved a ballot proposal last week that would amend the state’s constitution to let lawmakers serve up to 12 years entirely in one chamber.
The Dickinson County Republican said that currently legislators can serve no more than 14 years, including three two-year House terms and two four-year Senate terms.
McBroom shared his thoughts on why he voted in support of the measure and what he hopes it will do, especially in getting the State House into a more productive legislative body.
