Marquette, MI – May 10, 2022 – The Zonta Club of the Marquette Area is celebrating its 50th year, and they will be hosting a celebratory fundraising event later this month for the Women’s Center.
Contois explained the the local chapter was organized in 1972 as a chartered member of Zonta International with the mission of advancing the status of women.
She added that the Women’s Center was also established at about the same time with some of the women supporting the effort also serving as founders of the Zonta Club, making it the perfect partner for this event.
Anthony said the event is “The Power of Paying it Forward” and 100% of all ticket sales goes to the Women’s Center. Several prizes will also be raffled off to support Zonta and its mission.
It is happening on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Barrel and Beam in Marquette.
Tickets are $75 (or 2 for $140) and are available through EVENTBRITE.COM or by sending an email to LCONTOIS@NMU.EDU.
Anthony also mentioned the “Honor a Woman” campaign where with a $100 donation, anyone can have the opportunity to honor a woman in their life and in our community. And when that honoree purchases a $75 ticket to attend she will be Paying it Forward to the Women’s Center.
The nominee will be recognized at the event and the money donated in their name will go directly to furthering the causes of Zonta.
