Marquette, MI – April 20, 2022 – This time around for Wildcat Wednesday, we heard an update on Northern Michigan University’s upcoming winter semester 2022 Commencement.
University spokesperson Derek Hall spoke about the event today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Hall said there are a total of 1,009 graduates this semester, with 853 participating in the ceremony that is scheduled for 10:30am on Saturday, April 30th at the Superior Dome on campus.
He added that NMU will be awarding an honorary Doctor of Science Degree to former NMU Trustee Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen.
Zurbuchen is currently the Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA, and will be delivering the keynote commencement address.
Hall said the university will also bestow an honorary Doctor of Business degree to 1971 NMU graduate John W. Berry.
Berry is a long-time supporter of NMU and his name is best recognized in the Marquette community as the benefactor of the Berry Events Center.
