Marquette, MI – April 19, 2022 – Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry says they have postponed the start of their season due to lingering icy and wintry conditions in the Straits of Mackinac.
Shepler said they were scheduled to begin service on Thursday, but the cold waters in the Straits are causing some issues. Excess ice at the Mackinaw City docks is preventing their vessels from being deployed.
Shepler’s will make an announcement Friday regarding their schedule for next week.
