Marquette, MIApril 5, 2022Upper Peninsula Health Plan is getting the word about this year’s Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures Campaign.

Janey Joffee, Director of Population Health, and Lindsey Havel, Clinical Services Manager at UPHP, spoke about the campaign today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Joffee explained that this year, the campaign is focusing on preventive care for children of all ages by encouraging completion of well-care visits and recommended immunizations, including the COVID-19 vaccination for children age 5 and older.

Havel said this year’s Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures campaign is also focused on promotion of recommended vaccinations to pregnant and breastfeeding persons.

They added that that there is no information to suggest that any vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, affect someone’s ability to get pregnant now or in the future.

The annual campaign is sponsored by Upper Peninsula Health Plan, The Region 1 Perinatal Collaborative, and Upper Peninsula Health Group, and is taking place from March 28th through May 13th.
