Marquette, MI – March 24, 2022 – The City of Negaunee has officially launched an effort to build an inclusive playground area at Jackson Mine Park.
Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron spoke about the effort today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Heffron explained that it includes crowdfunding through the Michigan-based platform Patronicity with a goal of $50,000.
If that goal is met by May 22nd, the project will win a matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Public Spaces, Community Places program.
He added that the funds raised during this campaign will go to help expand upon the already approved playground in Jackson Mine Park.
