Marquette, MI – March 19, 2022 – The City of Ishpeming and the Ishpeming Kiwanis are teaming up in a public effort to fund a new playground at Lake Bancroft Park through a new crowdfunding campaign.
Ishpeming City Manager Craig Cugini spoke about the effort today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Cugini said the City is working with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to offer the program through the Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity.
He added that the campaign has a $15,000 goal to win a matching grant through MEDC’s Public Spaces Community Places initiative.
Cugini said the overall plan is to build a new play structure near the Mining Heritage Pavilion in honor of the late Ray Leverton of Ishpeming.
