Marquette, MI – February 18, 2022 – As the winter season moves on toward spring and summer, travel and tourism efforts are continuing to promote Michigan as a destination.
Lorenz recapped how the year has gone so far in the state with tourism, and took a look ahead to the upcoming summer travel season and what he expects for this year.
He cited higher gas prices and other inflationary pressures as factors that may make people less likely to travel this year.
Lorenz said, however, that the plans for the Pure Michigan campaign are to focus on getting Michiganders to try more in-state travel and also doing it during off-peak times, such as weekdays.
