Marquette, MI – November 29, 2021 – The Marquette City Commission has a work session this evening prior to their regular meeting to discuss a proposal to develop a parcel of land in north Marquette into possible middle income housing.
The proposal, by Detroit-based Renovare Development, seeks to build approximately 69 units on an 8-acre city-owned surplus parcel in an area along North McClellan Avenue.
The work session is at 5:15pm at Marquette City Hall. The Commission will vote on a resolution to sell the property at their regular meeting that begins at 6:00 p.m.
Kovacs said the regular meeting will include a report from the Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority and Commissioners will also be taking action on a new 2-year labor contract with the city’s police department.
The added that the Commission is also acting on a brownfield reimbursement agreement between the city, the Marquette Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and the developers of the proposed Marquette Vault project.
