Marquette, MI November 11, 2021 – The Marquette Township Planning Department is asking the public to share their ideas for recreational opportunities in the Township.

Jason McCarthy, Planning & Zoning Administrator with Marquette Township, spoke about a meeting coming up next week to hear from the public today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

McCarthy explained that the Township is in discussions to acquire a 16-acre parcel next to Trowbridge Park to develop a regional park. It would be acquired with a Michigan D-N-R Trust Fund Acquisition Grant at no cost to residents.

He said that in order to be eligible for the grant, a public input session is needed to gain ideas and comments to update the Township’s Recreation Plan to include the project.

The session is this Tuesday, November 16th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Community Room of the Marquette Township Hall at 1000 Commerce Drive.
