November 2021 Election Results For Marquette County

ELECTION RESULTS

Marquette, MI November 3, 2021 –  Voters headed to the polls yesterday in Marquette County to decide some key municipaa races and ballot questions.  Here’s the election results:

In the Marquette City Commission race, incumbents Jenna Smith and Jenn Hill were re-elected. Current Mayor Smith had 1,955 votes while current Mayor Pro Tem Hill had 1,741. Margaret Brumm finished in third with 924 votes.

Three candidates were vying for two open seats on Marquette Board of Light & Power with John Prince and Paul Schloegel coming out as the top vote getters. Prince had 1,561 votes, while Schloegel had 1,501. John Braamse came in with 1,192 votes.

In Negaunee, David Kangas, Edward Karki and Tobias Smith were the top three finishers in the race for a trio of open City Council seats. Kangas finished with 395 votes, Smith had 310 and Karki had 304. Matt Howard finished with 276.

And, voters in the Ishpeming School District passed a $3.9 million bond proposal for remodeling and updating school buildings, playgrounds and parking areas. That proposal passed by a vote of 569 YES to 235 NO.
