“Know It Before You Throw It” When It Comes To Recycling In Your Home

Marquette, MI – October 7, 2021 – The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority is continuing efforts to increase knowledge about recycling through the statewide Know It Before You Throw It campaign.

Brad Austin, MCSWMA Director of Operations spoke about the latest efforts to educate residents about all recycling, with a special focus on household batteries today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Austin talked about the most common types of household batteries he wants people to recycle as well as what to do with larger batteries like those in laptops, digital cameras, and cordless power tools.

He added that resources for people learn more about recycling batteries or just recycling in general are online at Recycle906.com or through the the State of Michigan’s recycling education campaign website at RecyclingRaccoons.org.
