Marquette, MI – September 13, 2021 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting this evening with a relatively short agenda, but with some key business items up for action.
Kovacs said Commissioners will be voting on a plan to rezone a property at 301 West Baraga Avenue, owned by the Catholic Diocese of Marquette. The Commission will be holding a discussion and the vote tonight after tabling the vote after a lengthy public hearing on the plan at their last regular meeting in August.
She also explained that the Commission will also be scheduling a public hearing on the city’s proposed budget for FY 2022. The city is currently facing an approximately $4 million revenue shortfall going into next year.
Kovacs added that there will also be a closed session tonight to strategize the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. at Commission chambers at Marquette City Hall.
