Northern Michigan University President Fritz Erickson Shares Fall Semester Update

Marquette, MIAugust 17, 2021Northern Michigan University is gearing up for the start of the Fall 2021 semester and is taking a series of precautionary steps related to the coronavirus pandemic.

University President Fritz Erickson spoke about those steps and more today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Erickson explained that the university is requiring a face covering for all individuals, vaccinated or not, who are participating in residence hall move-in activities while in any residence hall common area during the campus move-in period of this Thursday through Monday morning, which is the first day of fall classes.

He added that starting Monday, all members of the NMU campus community, both vaccinated and not vaccinated, will need to wear masks while in classrooms and laboratories.

Erickson also talked about the university’s process for monitoring the latest health information and guidelines and the vaccination rates on campus.
