
Marquette, MI – August 11, 2021 – The Marquette County Department of Veterans Affairs is getting the word out about a series of programs and services for veterans in the county.
Salo said a key event in the works is the Desert Storm 30-Year Anniversary Reunion and Open House at the Northern Center on the Campus of Northern Michigan University on September 18, 2021 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. information will be available at the event for veterans and their families and all are encouraged to attend.
He also shared information about the YMCA Healthy Vet Program intended to promote the well being of veterans and disabled veterans. This is a grant funded program in which veterans will receive 90-day membership at the Marquette YMCA and sessions with an accredited physical fitness trainer.
Salo wrapped up with information about Home and Yard Care Services for Veterans is also a grant funded program in which we can assisted elderly or disable veterans with home cleaning services and lawn care.
