Marquette, MIJuly 15, 2021 – Marquette County Law Enforcement agencies have used Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) on emergency calls for nearly 20 years, and while they have served the community well for many cardiac emergencies, they are now near or have passed their life expectancy.

Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt spoke about the effort to raise funds to replace the units with Mark & Walt in the Morning and how it’s gone so far.

Zyburt said the “Jumpstart A Heart” effort launched by the Community Foundation of Marquette County and the Marquette County Law Enforcement Administrator’s Association to raise funds for new AEDs for Marquette County Law Enforcement is at about halfway to their goal.

He added that the group is working to have the new devices out on patrol by this September 30th.
