Marquette, MI – June 29, 2021 – The Lake Superior Theatre is preparing for the launch of the 2021 season with the musical production “The Last Five Years” at their waterfront venue in Marquette.
Gladwell said she plays the lead female character, struggling actress Cathy opposite Alex Herman, who plays a successful writer named Jamie.
She said the show features the pair as the only members of the cast and they tell the story, through song, of their failed marriage from two perspectives.
Parkkonen says she is enjoying directing the show, because it’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy telling her story backwards while Jamie tells his story chronologically; and the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.
